Working on addressing all forms of poverty in this seaside town with many challenges. Connecting together Blackpool Food Partnership, Work Clubs and other development opportunities.

This has been a major growth area for the network. Canon Dick Cartmell joined us as a volunteer and is working to connect churches with the Local Authority and other third sector providers.

The Blackpool Food Partnership is now becoming an independent charity in its own right, Blackpool Food4Life. It will continue to provide support to the groups that support those in the greatest need. Working closely with Blackpool Council and Blackpool Foodbank those with urgent needs are supported.

We work with networks of job clubs, homelessness projects and family work initiatives and have a strong theological reflection group. We have been negotiating with the Council to establish a Poverty Truth Commission, and a Faith Partnership Agreement which we have helped to set up was launched in September 2017.

A major piece of work which Dick co-ordinated was the production of directory of all the Faith Social Action projects in the town. The online map of the projects gives the details of over 60 different projects in place.
