Food Poverty

Food poverty is a day-to-day reality for more and more people in the UK. In Lancashire, one in five parents say they have skipped meals so their children could eat. And the problems are often worse during the school holidays.

Together Lancashire worked hard to tackle food poverty in our communities. From supporting Holiday Clubs for families whose children receive free school meals, to providing expertise, help and advice to groups setting up food banks and local initiatives such as Slow Cooker projects to teach people how to cook healthily on a budget.

Explore the Our Projects section of this website to see some of the inspiring work we were involved in.

For local support please see Our Projects - where each local area contains contact details of local food alliances.
